Description
🧪 ALBENDAZOLE 200 mg SUSPENSION
Liquid Defense Against Worm Infestations
COMPOSITION:
-
Albendazole 200 mg per 5 mL oral suspension
WHAT IS IT?
Albendazole 200 mg suspension is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic in a liquid formulation, specifically designed for children and individuals who have difficulty swallowing tablets. It is effective against a wide range of intestinal and tissue-dwelling parasitic worms. Albendazole targets the parasite’s metabolic processes, leading to its death and removal from the body.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Albendazole belongs to the benzimidazole class of antiparasitic drugs. It works by:
-
Inhibiting microtubule synthesis in parasite cells by binding to β-tubulin, disrupting their ability to absorb glucose.
-
This results in energy depletion, immobilization, and death of the parasite.
-
It is converted in the liver to its active form, albendazole sulfoxide, which provides systemic activity.
INDICATIONS:
Albendazole 200 mg suspension is used for the treatment of various parasitic infections, including:
-
Ascariasis (roundworm)
-
Enterobiasis (pinworm)
