MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Ivermectin: Binds to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in the nerve and muscle cells of parasites, increasing permeability to chloride ions. This results in paralysis and death of the parasite.

Albendazole: Disrupts microtubule formation by binding to β-tubulin in parasite cells. This inhibits glucose uptake, leading to energy depletion and death.
Together, they act on different parasite systems, offering enhanced efficacy and reducing the chance of reinfection.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:

Adults and Children ≥2 years:

Single dose containing 1.5 mg Ivermectin + 400 mg Albendazole

May be repeated after 2–3 weeks in reinfection-prone areas

Take with or after food, ideally a fat-rich meal to enhance Albendazole absorption
Shake well if suspension; chew tablets thoroughly before swallowing
