Description
🧬 IVERMECTIN + ALBENDAZOLE SUSPENSION
Dual-Action Antiparasitic Suspension: Broad Coverage in a Child-Friendly Form
COMPOSITION (per 5 mL):
-
Ivermectin 1.5 mg
-
Albendazole 200 mg
PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
This fixed-dose oral suspension combines two powerful antiparasitic agents: Ivermectin, a macrocyclic lactone, and Albendazole, a benzimidazole derivative. Together, they offer broad-spectrum deworming coverage in a single, convenient liquid formulation, ideal for children and individuals with swallowing difficulties. This combination is designed to target a wide range of intestinal and tissue parasites effectively and safely.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
-
Ivermectin works by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels in the nerve and muscle cells of parasites, increasing chloride ion permeability. This causes paralysis and death of the parasite.
-
Albendazole acts by inhibiting tubulin polymerization, disrupting the microtubules essential for glucose uptake. This results in energy depletion, immobilization, and parasite death.
The combination ensures both intestinal clearance and systemic efficacy, especially in mixed parasitic infections.
INDICATIONS:
This suspension is used for the treatment of various parasitic infections, including:
-
Ascariasis (roundworm)
-
Enterobiasis (pinworm)
-
Trichuriasis (whipworm)
-

-
Strongyloidiasis
-
Cutaneous larva migrans
-
Filariasis (lymphatic and cutaneous forms)
-
Scabies (off-label, in conjunction with topical agents)
-
Mixed helminth infections
