Trusted Broad-Spectrum Deworming Solution
COMPOSITION:

Albendazole 400 mg
(Available as chewable or conventional tablet)
WHAT IS ALBENDAZOLE 400 mg?
Albendazole 400 mg is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic (anti-worm medication) used to treat a wide variety of intestinal and tissue parasitic infections. It is especially effective against nematodes (roundworms), cestodes (tapeworms), and certain protozoal infections. As a single-dose or short-course therapy, Albendazole is widely used in routine deworming and public health programs, particularly in areas with high parasitic burden.
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Albendazole is part of the benzimidazole class of antiparasitic drugs. It works by:
-
Inhibiting microtubule polymerization in parasitic cells through binding to β-tubulin.
-
Blocking glucose uptake in parasites, leading to energy depletion.
-
Causing paralysis and death of the worm due to metabolic failure.
Albendazole is metabolized in the liver into its active form, albendazole sulfoxide, which provides both intestinal and systemic efficacy.

Albendazole 400 mg is indicated for the treatment of:
